Under the slogan “for more successes and achievements “, PWP management has organized an annual counseling meeting for its employees and staff at the headquarters and governorates during a period of 21-22 June , 2014 for the purpose of reviewing its activities during a full year and to evaluate the level of implementation of  works plan and to be aware of the positive aspects to strengthen them and avoiding the negative aspects , if exist and to discuss the report of auditing and accounting.

The meeting also discussed over two days a number of working papers on preventive measures, environmental and social requirements of the Bank and community engagement, as well as the review of project designs and project documents in situation and collected and documented and saved in the project documentation in addition to the importance of involving women in all stages of the implementation of the projects and common mistakes.

At the opening of the meeting, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Chairman of the Steering Committee of Public Works, Dr.
Mohammed Al-Sa’di, has confirmed the importance of holding such meetings to assess the business, present positive observations, discuss the difficulties and circulate the benefits and reduce failures.

Dr.  Mohammed Al-Sa’di pointed out that these meetings have a big reflection to the success of projects and progress in the institutional structure, stressing that the works enterprise proved its perfection through its success in the completion of projects, activities and objectives, which gives us a positive feeling that the Yemeni people are moving to the development of capacity and the proper institutional structure, wishing all success and correct future course.

“When we see the financiers provide confidence to the institution, whether by means of certificates of excellence, such as those granted to the works enterprise or by positive reports that pushes us to get a glimmer of hope in the advanced institutional structure”, Dr. Al-Sa`di added.

For his part, the General Director of the Public Works, Eng. Sa’eed Abdu Ahmed emphasized that the aim of the meeting is to discuss the overall project activities during the past year and what has been achieved from the action plan and the reasons of success and also the failure causes which the project was not able to achieve, as well as the discussion of the Central Organization for Control and Audit, and legal auditors’ reports and notes filed by in such reports and the responsibility of each administrative level or area of these observations and how to avoid getting caught in the future.

 Eng. Sa’eed  pointed out that the meeting will make the staff be aware of the new methods and requirements required by financiers and within the signed financing agreements for this stage and other general topics that will be discussed at this meeting .

Eng. Sa’eed Abdu Ahmed reviewed the activities and achievements of the project during the last period and prospective goals of the project, as well as financing and agreements that have been signed recently between Yemen represented by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the Funding Agencies to finance the fourth phase of the Public Works Project.

“The project won the excellence provided by the US the management of the public work project  of the Treasury Award , in addition to, the Work Project is among a group of enterprises that has been selected for the award of excellence that will be provided by the International Bank for the outstanding projects this year” ,The General Director of the Public Works elaborated.
