The restoration and rehabilitation of hundreds of schools in various Yemeni governorates creates an encouraging educational environment and the continuation of the educational process. PWP’s PMU is well-aware that children males and females have the right to education regardless of the circumstances and has made it an objective that children will continue to go schools regardless. Indicators confirm that the rehabilitation of schools has had a positive impact on education in Yemen, where drop out rates have continued to decrease as dozens of more schools have been rehabilitated and restored bringing back closed and out of service school which are closest to population groups to life. The number of regular students attending regular classes, especially female students, have doubled. in addition, schools have become safer after the restoration of the roofs ending fears that they may collapse over the heads of students.
Most schools in Yemen are out of service and have become a discouraging factor or students to stay out of schools. Some have even become dangerous grounds threatening the lives of students and constant fears that the roofs may collapse over their heads. Most of the schools had been turned into shelter to house IDP’s, and some havebecome run down due to neglect and lack of maintenance. Therefore, the restoration and rehabilitation of these schools by PWP has breathed new life to these shcools and revived hope for thousands of students to cross into the future.
Progress
Interventions by PWP in the education sector are currently limited to the rehabilitation and restoration of existing schools. This intervention has provided a stimulating and encouraging learning environment for both males and females students alike. It has led to increased school enrolment rates compared to the situation before the interventions.
During the period January-December 2023, 430 schools were rehabilitated at a cost of $ 4.7 million, benefiting about 122,000 students. These projects created 555,000 Man/month temporary work opportunities.

Hundreds of schools return to service after years of stalled
"Yarmouk and Al-Khansaa schools in Saada Governorate, return in a new look as a stimulating and supportive educational edifice for the educational process This is evident through the density of students and their regularity in the classrooms, and this positive impact of the restoration process of schools is clearly visible in Al-Shawkani School in Marib Governorate, where the school was previously shown before intervening in a deplorable state, the school building suggests to those who see it by saying "there was a school" Today the situation after restoration says, "This is a school".
The situation is better in Al-Thawra School for Girls, and Waddah Al-Yemen School in the city of Jaar in Abyan Governorate, the school has become an encouraging environment for students and taking into account the conditions of the girl, and happiness is visible on the students through the sounds that sound like bees.
