With 108 participants, the Gender Unit in PWP organized a number of training sessions during the past weeks in a number of governorates: Sana'a, Dhamar, Amran, Hodeidah, and the Capital Secretariat.

According to a report issued by the PWP, the PWP organized a week-long training for 33 women representing various governorates of the Republic and 57 women from the Governorate of Hodeidah.

The training sessions aimed at introducing the Yemen Emergency Crises Response Project (YECRP) – a project funded by the World Bank through the UNDP, capacity building of the community workers, and enable them to work in the field to identify priorities of local communities, especially women, for development projects. The training also aims to give community workers an orientation on target communities and the skills need to find job opportunities.

The report anticipates that the trainees in the sessions will contribute to the promotion of voluntary work, encourage women in target areas to effectively participate in all phases of project implementation: Identification of needs through sustainability of projects and the role of beneficiaries committees, which are usually set-up by community workers to ensure broader participation by women.

In the Governorates of Hodeidah, Dhamar and Mahweet,
PWP Trains 47 Women Using PWP trained Trainers.

Three training sessions were held this week in the governorates of Hodeidah, Dhamar, and Mahweet with the participation of 47 female trainees representing various areas in the three governorates.

The three-day training was organized by community workers who had been trained by PWP in community research, capacity building and identification of needs. The training is a translation of the outcomes of the Women and Community Workers Program implemented by PWP.
