The initiative taken by the PWP in the building public restrooms in al-Hasbah area of the city of Sana’a is a unique one that deserves to be applauded. This is the first time ever for restrooms for women to be built in the city, or for that matter, in any other city in Yemen.

This initiative has had a profound impact on women. This is evident in the number of women using the service, especially since the restrooms are located in a very busy area of the city. This is a central location in the area, where a large number of street vendors offer all types of wares and products and all bus and taxi stands are located.
