In the opening Session of the Occupational Health and Safety Training, Engineer Saeed Abdo Ahmed: Compliance with OHS measures is an essential requirement for working with PWP.
The PWP director, Engineer Saeed Abdo Ahmed has emphasized that OHS measures have become an essential requirement and contractos and contracting firms must abide by them and implement them in practice in worksites as an expression of their moral and professional convictions.
During the opening session of a two-day training on OHS measures held in Sana’a, Engineer Saeed Abdo Ahmed said:” Implementation of OHS measures are an essential requirement for contractors and is no less important than compliance with projects specifications”. He added: “The life of a worker, personal safety and maintenance of safety in general is a high priority and scared and everyone must create suitable conditions for the protection of lives from any work-related hazard”.
He pointed out that PWP will not hesitate to take stern legal actions against contractors and consultant engineers who are not in compliance or negligent in implementing OHS measures.
He also stressed the need to pay particular attention to environmental impact during project implementation in a matter that would realize sound practices in the contracting profession, and at the same time, leave a good impression and feeling of satisfaction in the local community.
During the two-day training, which was organized by PWP and attended by 60 people from PWP and contractors, PWP specialists trained the participants on the correct application of OHS requirements. Main and sub-area managers and their assistance made numerous interventions during the training focusing on the application of OHS measures. They stressed that all parties working with PWP must apply them - whether they are contractors, engineers or social workers and consultants.
