The UNESCO team currently visiting Yemen, headed by the UNESCO Regional Director for Yemen and the Gulf, Anna Paolini, visited today a project to restore and rehabilitate some houses and squares in old Sana’a implemented by the PWP in partnership with UNESCO and funded by the European Union.
During the visit, the UNESCO Regional Director Anna Paolini and the UNESCO Project Director in Yemen, Boyana Zivukovic, heard from the Director of thePWP, Engineer Saeed Abdo Ahmed, a detailed explanation of the components of the restoration project, the level of implementation, the number of houses and squares targeted, the expected impact and the importance of the project in protecting Sana’a homes and youth employment, given that it is practical Restoration is implemented within the cash-for-work project to improve livelihood opportunities for youth in urban areas.
