Cut costs
Displaced people suffer from the high value of transportation, whether for individuals, goods or foodstuffs, from and to Al-Sharaf Al-Ala area due to the severe road roughness, which is the same for the indigenous people of the area and the surrounding villages.
The Public Works Project intervened in the paving of the off-road in Al-Sharaf Al-Ala Road to reduce the cost of high financial burdens borne by IDPs, indigenous peoples and neighboring villages in return for the movement of individuals or the import of goods and foodstuffs.
"The cost of traveling to and from the Al-Sharaf Al-Ala is a cause of concern to citizens as a result of the high financial cost," said Abboud Mohammed Mosaad, 35, the head of a family of five members.
"The cost of a person's transportation to the market in order to buy some vegetables is sometimes more than the value of vegetables," Abboud said.
"The rising prices of goods, foodstuffs and even water tankers in Al-Sharaf Al-Ala area are mainly due to the high financial cost of transportation," he said.
Improving living
Pavement of the off-road in the path Al-Sharaf Al-Ala will contribute in improving the standard of living of displaced persons and indigenous people by reducing the cost of transportation for individuals, goods and foodstuffs.
Abdel Basset Hadi, a member of the beneficiaries committee, expects that the paving project currently being implemented by the Public Works Project will contribute in alleviating the suffering of displaced people and indigenous people due to the high cost of transportation. The paving of the road of Al-Sharaf Al-Ala will be benefited by some neighboring villages such as - Al-Salalah - Al-Ridha - Al-Qadhimiya - Hawl Al-Qaradi.
