Public Works Project provides women of Al-Rebat village with safety

Salim al-Awadhi, a 40-year-old resident of Al-Rebat village  in Al-Sadah directorate, Ibb governorate, who is waiting for his new baby, didn't  expect that the flowing water on Bana'a valley will be a barrier  between the river, his wife with her fetus  and the flood blockage will be a reason of his wife and fetus death.

Salim al-Awadhi's Wife   suffered from dystocia and bleeding  which could have been saved with her fetus if there was a bridge linking the village with the other side of the river.

Neighboring directorates

What happened to the wife of Salim al-Awadhi - forced the families heads in Al-Ribat village to take their wives to Ibb's suburbs or Ibbcity to be near to the hospitals, especially in the rainy season when  floods are flowing at dangerous levels which makes it impossible to cross Bana wadi.

Compulsory interruption

The residents of Al-Ribat village  - in the rainy season suffer from two things, says Yusuf al-Faqih - Wadi Bana is the only road linking them to neighboring villages and the  Ibb city , it's their lifeline. In the rainy season they are being cut off from the neighboring villages and the market for 3-5 days until the water  torrent becomes low to be able to cross riverbed.

The bridge will be a savior

Al-Faqih stresses that the intervention of the Public Works Project through the project of the agricultural land protection walls  and the bridge between the eastern and western sides of Al-Rabat village will be the most important project for the people as it will save the lives of many women. It will alleviate the chronic suffering of the community with floods and facilitate the mobility, ...etc.  As well as it will affect the economic aspects in terms of easing business movement of people, work ...etc.
