Murad al-Jaghman, 50, a farmer from Jafinah – Marib -  in describing the situation of farmers in his areas, he said the situation today is so much better than before. Crop production of their farmers have increased, especially grains – and the arable land has nearly doubled. Livestock production has been thriving and residents are now food secure for the entire year.

The  street fish vendor, Mohamed Awadh, who is 45 years old and lives in al-Khassaf neighborhood - one of Aden's crowded quarters in the District of Seera - now moves easily in and about the alleyways of the neighborhood to sell his fish after the streets were stone-paved.

Ateeq Mohamed Khalil, a resident of the village of Akroub – al-Qubaya›a in the District of Qabaytah of the Governorate of Lahj –  speaks of the hardship people suffer because of water scarcity. Seasonal rain is sparse and light, and most springs and wells have dried up. Supplying clean water to homes is not accessible to many: People have to travel long distance, the roads are rough and rugged, and the water source may not be safe for peoples› health.

Mohamed Salim Mera'aey, a secondary school student, was shocked to see the dire situation in his old school: Classrooms were without windows, desks and WC's broken, and sewerage lines blocked – a scene that inspires awe and frustration, making student lose interest in going to school.  For Mohamed Mera'aey and his colleagues the school environment was no longer attractive.

300 persons - males and females - are the total number of patients of Dar-ul-Salam Psychiatry Hospital in the Governorate of Hodeidah. These are people who have been stripped of their normal behavior by the harshness of life and precarious living conditions, which also removed them from their normal social settings. The patients have been admitted into the hospital for treatment for mental disorders, and for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Sundown and its reflection in the sea water in Hodeidah forms a wonderful  painting that embodies the splendor of nature. It's a picture that reflects the beauty of life in this area - a scene loved by millions of people. However, on the other side, there are women and children who have a totally different story to tell: A story of hardship and suffering from disease caused by polluted water.

There is hardly a day without a quarrel between the residents of Al-Ansar neighborhood in Houta Lahj. The farm is emerging and lacks sanitation and the street (spaced between houses) is not more than two meters, which is available to the residents to dig wells and drain sewage.

Salah Mohammed, a 12-year-old from the Hermel district of Marib Al-Wadi school, left the school and started moving water to the houses from his village's water supply tank because there was no pumping line for distributing water to the houses. Such thing makes women and children responsible for bringing water to homes daily, people are unable to afford the financial burden of installing the water line to their homes.
