Many women have skills and creative talents that need to be polished and developed. However, harsh living conditions force most women to take up the responsibility of providing for the daily needs of their households - such as fetching water to their homes, as is the case with Qibool Saeed.

Suna’-Allah Nasser, one of the women of al-Nushaifah in the Governorate of Marib, had married early. She has been facing hard times and going through the bitterness of life, as life has not been good to her. Her husband left her with their less than one-year-old infant and later divorced her.

Located in the Jebel Dar area in al-Sabrah District of the Governorate of Ibb, al-Salam school has suffered neglect, the weathering of time and the onslaught of termites on its roof - which became a lurking danger threatening the lives of students.

The rugged road of al-Shuaib Village in al-A’rouq-Taiz has been a cause for the hardship in the daily life of the local area residents. The cost of transportation is so high and cars can’t travel this rugged road, with the exception of very old 4x4 models. Transporting the sick on this road is a high risk, which leads to complications and increased pain.

Anyone visiting al-Dhahar area in Ibb or going to the wholesale market or the public transport station, would smell the foul odors from a distance, and feel the bites of mosquitoes - which are everywhere making the daily living miserable in the area. Salim Abdo Salim, who is in his fifties, and a resident of al-Jarrah Village - District of Hais - has become homeless with his four children. His home and thirteen other homes in the area were swept away by torrent floods in 2016. Up till today, he and the other homeowners haven’t been able to rebuild their homes.

The District of Hat, in the Governorate of Maharah, has been facing severe drought and water scarcity. The climate in this area is semi-arid, but its inhabitants have been dependent on agriculture and camel breeding as their main sources of livelihood. The provision of water through the expansion of a water collection pond has had a positive impact for humans and animals in the area.

The residents of the village of Talibah, in the District of Hisoon in Khawlan, Governorate of Sana’a, have been suffering from lack of clean water and scarcity of water resources. The return of many families who used to live in urban areas, such as Sana’a and Amran exacerbated the problem - and demands for the already scarce water doubled.
