In an on-going effort, the PWP continues to strive to achieve development and to provide priority essential services most-needed by the people. This effort is contributing to the provision of livelihoods and a life of dignity, especially in the remote areas and areas most affected by the current situation in the country.
The national occupation health and safety expert, Dr. Mohamed al-Mughalis has asserted that many provisions of the Yemeni labor law clearly spell out occupational health and safety procedures.
An amazing painting formed by tens of female students at al-Saifi school in the capital city of Sana’a. Not even the best of talented artists can duplicate this, but the PWP has succeeded in sculpting it in the real world by rehabilitating the school - which can readily be seen in this new look. A beautiful picture with the faces of these young female students reflecting a brighter future.
Women constitute a cornerstone for the PWP, considering that they play an essential role in the development of a community. The PWP has made women-oriented projects top priority. Embodying this attention to women’s needs, are projects that have been implemented, especially water projects.
The initiative taken by the PWP in the building public restrooms in al-Hasbah area of the city of Sana’a is a unique one that deserves to be applauded. This is the first time ever for restrooms for women to be built in the city, or for that matter, in any other city in Yemen.
Kathiah Mohamed, a housewife and a mother of five, lives in the Aflah al-Sham area in Hajjah. Salma al-Faqih, is also a housewife, living in Bait al-Faqih in Hodeidah. She is mother to four children. Wardah Ayesh from Aden, a housewife and head of the household of seven individuals. laila Salimain, from the Governorate of Lahj, is a housewife and a mother of five.
The Public Works Project (PWP) is continuing its active role in creating job opportunities, overcoming major difficulties and challenges in the way, especially important under the current conditions in the country.
The PWP has succeeded in implementing sub-projects closely linked to peoples’ daily lives, such as water, rehabilitation of schools, sanitation, and protection of agricultural land.
